Overview

Iowa Code 598 lists the factors a court may consider in requiring one person to pay the other alimony. While each case is different, commonly seen factors include the length of the marriage, the property settlement and the ability of each party to maintain a lifestyle commensurate with what the enjoyed during the marriage.
